The Leading Hand is developed and supported by AMPL Software Pty Ltd . Founded in 1984, we are a privately held company, headquartered in Sydney, Australia.

Tim Shea, managing director (pictured) setup the company to service the needs of the burgeoning microcomputer industry. Since then, we have become leaders in the field of software development, being at the forefront of changes in technology.

The Leading Hand Project goes back more than 15 years. The Institute of Automotive Engineers (IAME) wanted a reliable, easy-to-use and competitively priced computer software program to supply to its members and the Leading Hand was born.

The Leading Hand is the only workshsop management software program fully endorsed by the IAME.

Since its inception, Leading Hand has been developed to satisfy the needs of growing workshops. It is used widely all over Australia. We encourage input from our users to help the program grow and develop.
